Glapthorn CE Primary School

Autumn 2

How does city life differ to village life?

Sparkling Start

To start our topic this half term, Barn Owls went on a village walk around Glapthorn looking for features of a village. The children took clipboards to record features of a village including a church, our school, the village hall and we ended our walk at the village park!

Autumn Walk to Short Wood!

Barn Owls walked to Short Woods to support our writing journey based on the story 'The Deep Dark Wood' by Algy Craig Hall. When we were in the woods, the children focused on what they could see and hear, the children record adjectives to include in their stories.

Children in Need!

RLT Multi-Skills Event at Ketton!

Peterborough Cathedral

They had a brilliant morning in Peterborough Cathedral, they took part in different Christmas themed activities focused on the Christmas story. The children were beautifully behaved and engaged in all activities! We then went on a bus tour focused on features of a city.

Our Christmas Nativity!

Fabulous Finish!

The Barn Owls showed concern for homeless people after visiting the city of Peterborough. They would like to organised a collection of food and clothing to support the Peterborough Soup Kitchen.
