Nightingales amazing day at Peterborough Museum
The Nightingales travelled to Peterborough Museum to discover what it was like when the Romans invaded England! Here are some of the children's thoughts on the trip:
"When we were making our outstanding pottery faces, we saw lots of remarkable faces already made and they looked amazing!"
"The Roman soldier was menacing and formidable, but Boudicca was different altogether."
"I found meeting the Roman incredible, especially when he spoke Latin."
"I was amazed when we met the brilliant Boudicca, who tried to persuade us to join her army!"

Nightingales are going far, far back in time in their Time Machine! They began their topic in early January by visiting Forest School to learn about whittling, building shelters and lighting fires - very important skills for our ancestors.
A trip to Flag Fen at the end of January has helped them to understand what life was like 3500 years ago!
Our Residential to Aylmerton (March 2016)
On Wednesday 16th March, Nightingales class along with Miss Marrison and Mrs Towns went on a 3 day residential to Norfolk. The children took part in some amazing activities that all involved thinking about Geography and the environment around us. The children learnt how to look for the north star and name several constellations, which was fascinating. We went out on a boat to see the seals on Blakeney point, which was the highlight of the trip for most children (although, bowling was also a big favourite). We even went back in time to the Victorian Seaside at Cromer Museum.
On the last day we trained to be pirates with Captain Jack Starling at the Alymerton site. We dressed as pirates and spoke like pirates for the whole day! The children took part in lots of outdoor adventure activities, such as rock climbing, the high ropes and team work activities. The day was a great success as we all passed our pirate training with flying colours! A big well done to those children who were really brave!
We are so proud of all the children. They were engaged, enthusiastic and sensible for the whole trip. They made it an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone. I am sure we will all look back on the trip with fond memories.
